Nature Trails Winter Event
Join us for a fun-filled winter day on the Kenneth J. Lehman Nature Trails on MCC’s Sidney Campus! All are invited to enjoy a variety of activities on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. detailed below:
- Snowshoeing: MCC has 6 pairs of snowshoes available for checkout at the recreation desk. Just bring your student ID or driver's license. It's free for everyone!
- Scavenger Hunt: Pick up a scavenger hunt list at the front desk and explore the trails while searching for hidden treasures.
- Geocaching: Try your hand at geocaching on our campus trails. It's a great way to combine technology with outdoor adventure.
- Ice Fishing: Our trails connect to a lake where you can bring your ice fishing gear and enjoy the serene winter landscape. Please note that ice fishing is at your own risk.
Additional Activities:
- Chat with a Nature Trails Guide: Maps and free materials available; snacks and hot cocoa provided in Ash 138
- 1 p.m.: Frozen Globe activity (Balloons and colored water)
- 1:30 p.m.: Guided Snowshoe Walk - Meet in Ash 138; pick up snowshoes beforehand (only 6 pairs available) from the recreation desk or bring your own
- 2:30 p.m.: Snowman Building Contest (weather permitting)
- 3 p.m.: Guided Trail Walk
