The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) recently announced its complete list of scholar athletes for the 2024-2025 academic year, and a large handful of Centurions were recognized for their academic excellence.

The MCCAA recognizes student-athletes through a variety of academic awards, including Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, and MCCAA All-Academic Team honors. These awards celebrate the commitment of student-athletes to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.

In total, there were 32 Montcalm Community College athletes, and four teams, which were recognized for their academic excellence in addition to their athletic participation.

“This recognition is a testament to the discipline, dedication and determination our student-athletes bring to every aspect of their lives,” said Amanda Glaza, MCC Assistant Athletic Director and Student Success Coach. “Excelling in both the classroom and in competition reflects what it truly means to be a Centurion and represent MCC. We couldn’t be prouder of how they continue to embrace the full student-athlete experience.”

To earn Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must earn at least 24 credits with a 3.0 GPA or higher. For Academic All-MCCAA, a student-athlete must earn at least 24 credits with a 3.2 GPA. Student-athletes who graduated at the end of the fall semester or needed less than 24 credits to earn their degree are also eligible for the award.

The MCCAA also recognizes teams sponsored within the conference who earn a cumulative team GPA for the 2024-2025 academic year of a 3.0 or higher.
