Cross Country Runners Finish Solid Races at St. Clair
Montcalm Community College competed in the Skippers Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29 in St. Clair, Mich. The MCC women's team finished 8th out of 11 teams.
The women were led by Annette Fare, who placed 10th overall and ran a personal best time of 21:08 on a very wet, hilly and slow course.
Annette was followed by Carley Lynch who had a season best time of 24:11, then Georgia Jurden in 26:12, Alyssa Unger 27:41 and Josie Kenyon 36:03.
On the men’s side, Andrew Hardy was the lone competitor for the Centurions, running a very solid 30:20 placing 37th out of 130 runners.
“We have had some very challenging practices and races these past several weeks. The runners have worked exceptionally hard and it was great to see that hard work pay off today,” said Head Coach Kevin Sweeney.
Their next meet is Saturday, Oct. 7, when they participate in the Gene Davis Invitational in Appleton, Wis. The meet starts at 12 noon.
