MCC bowling teams wrap up season with Baker Challenge
Montcalm Community College’s men’s and women’s bowling teams finished fifth and sixth at the MCCAA Baker Challenge in Mt. Pleasant on Feb. 23.
The meet consisted of Baker games, which is team play in which all players contribute to the score in one game. The player designated as #1 bowls frames 1 and 6, the #2 player bowls frames 2 and 7, the #3 player bowls frames 3 and 8, the #4 player bowls frames 4 and 9, and player #5 bowls frames 5 and 10. A Baker Block score is total score of two baker games played.
On the men’s side, they finished with a Baker Block 1 score of 348, a Baker Block 2 score of 292, a Baker Block 3 score of 336, a Baker Block 4 score of 339, a Baker Block 5 score of 304, and a Baker Block 6 score of 327.
On the women’s side, they finished with a Baker Block 1 score of 143, a Baker Block 2 score of 98, a Baker Block 3 score of 178, a Baker Block 4 score of 178, a Baker Block 5 score of 164, and a Baker Block 6 score of 207.
This was the last meet of the season for both bowling teams. They will resume play in September. The next sport season at MCC will be men’s golf, which starts on April 5.
