MCC’s Board organizes for the new year
During its Jan. 14 meeting, the Montcalm Community College Board of Trustees elected its executive committee, made committee appointments and set its 2025 meeting dates.
During the meeting Karen Carbonelli, who has served as Chairperson since 1997, announced that she would not seek re-election to the position due to personal reasons. The Board elected Kurt Peterson, of Sidney, to serve as Chairperson. Peterson was first elected to the Board in November 2018 and served as the Board Treasurer. Josh Stump, of Greenville, was elected to fill the position of Treasurer. Also elected to serve on the executive committee were Vice Chairperson Carol Deuling-Ravell, of Howard City; and Secretary Joyce Kitchenmaster, of Stanton.
MCC’s Senior Vice President of Administrative Service and COO Connie Stewart was appointed assistant treasurer to the board and MCC’s Executive Assistant in the President’s Office Lisa Herald was appointed assistant secretary to the board.
Stump was appointed MCC’s representative to the Montcalm County School Boards Association and Trustee Esther Combs, of Crystal, was appointed MCC’s alternative representative.
Meetings are scheduled for Jan. 24 at 8:30 a.m. – Board retreat; Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m.; March 11 at 5:30 p.m.; April 8 at 3:30 p.m.; May 13 at 5:30 p.m.; June 10 at 9 a.m.; July 8 at 9 a.m.; Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.; Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m.; Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m.; Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 8 Joint Boards Meeting at 9 a.m.; and Dec. 8 regular BOT meeting at 11 a.m.
