MCC’s Clingenpeel and Gomez garner Player of the Week honors

The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) announced that Montcalm Community College golfer Ryan Clingenpeel (Golf) and volleyball player Jaden Gomez earned player of the week honors for the week of October 7-13.

Clingenpeel picked up his first MCCAA Western Conference golfer of the week honor. This is the third week in a row that a Centurion has earned MCCAA Western Conference golfer of the week accolades. On Oct. 7 and 8, the Centurions competed at the Egypt Valley Championship, on a tough Egypt Valley Country Club course. The Centurions were one of just two community colleges to compete at this event. Clingenpeel played three rounds of golf and shot an 80, 81, and 86. On Oct. 11, Clingenpeel helped lead the Centurions to another victory at the Henry Ford College Invitational, where he shot a 77.

Freshman Jaden Gomez picked up her second MCCAA Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. Jaden was crucial in the Centurions victory over Bay College on Oct. 8, where she picked up a career high 30 digs in the 3-1 victory over the Norse.
