MCC students earn honors at national business competition
Eight Montcalm Community College students recently earned high honors during the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas.
More than 6,000 students competed at all levels from across the nation. All MCC students finished in the top 10 for their events.
Connor Clark, of Greenville, earned 10th place in Basic Office Systems & Procedures; Morgan Mason, of Belding, placed 5th in Fundamental Desktop Publishing, 5th in Graphic Design Promotion and 6th in Integrated Office Applications; Mary McQuarrie, of Ionia, earned 5th place in Promotional Photography; Kyleigh Mills, of Greenville, placed 8th in Interview Skills; Lindsey Olger, of Lakeview, placed 4th in Graphic Design Promotion and 9th in Interview Skills; Celena Rosset, of Edmore, earned 3rd place in Ethics & Professionalism, and 3rd place in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts; and Claire Scott, of Greenville, and Noelle Kyes, of Belding, placed 3rd in Small Business Management Team.
BPA Advisors Bill Bishop, who is an MCC business instructor, and Kristen Diehl, MCC’s CIS lab coordinator, accompanied the students during the trip.
“It was a wonderful experience for all of the competitors,” Bishop said. “The students did a great job of representing MCC.”
Business Professionals of America is the leading Career Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
