Volleyball team wins second home game
The Montcalm Community College Centurion volleyball team competed in their second home contest Wednesday, Sept. 20, while playing one of their best games to date, as the team finished the night with a season high hitting percentage hitting .261 as a team. The efficient attacking from the Centurions allowed the team to sweep Kuyper College with scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.
Freshman Piper Groesser had a season high 12 kills, while hitting .450. Leading the way defensively was Freshman Kelsey Antcliff who picked up 8 digs and Maia Sexton who picked up 3 blocks. Setting up the offense was Freshman Tiana Whitacre who recorded 21 assists and a career and team high 6 service aces.
The next home volleyball game is Wednesday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m. against Grand Rapids Community College.
